And when I looked back.........
Do you remember rushing inside the bus to grab the window seat? The sense of peace when the cool breeze slightly touches your face, the enjoyment of sitting with your best friends and the sense of happiness for the moment you've been waiting for the entire week is happening. But why were you so happy even at the time you did not reached your destinations?
Ask yourself. Is that child still inside you who enjoyed and cherished every moment of his life even at the time he was not even close to his destination?
"Don't wait for everything to be perfect before you decide to enjoy your life" - Joyce Meyer
You must be having trouble to stay motivated, keeping a positive mindset and constantly working towards your goal. Goals are amazing to have and it is the thing which keeps all of us going but solely focusing on your goal can make you demotivated and unhappy.
Every one has one goal or another to achieve in their life and day-dreaming about it also makes us happy and motivates us to put all our efforts and achieve it but if you have that mindset that achieving that goal is solely what will make you happy then I am sorry to tell you that it would take no time for you to get exhausted and one day you are gonna literally stop putting effort towards your goal.
"Take pride in how far you have come. Have faith in how far you can go.But don't forget to enjoy the Journey"
The idea that ultimate happiness will be achieved after achieving the goal is a myth. You will surely be happy after your goal is met but putting effort for a week or a month or a year or even a few years and then being happy for a day and again the next day setting another goal and the cycle continues. This is what you want from your life? Living for at least 60 years and enjoying for maybe just a year and living under all that stress and pressure for 90% of your life.
You must have played the game 'Connecting the dots' in your childhood. There are scenarios in which even till the 5th or the 4th last dots, you are not able to recognize the whole picture. But as soon as you slide through the 3rd last dots, everything becomes crystal clear to you. It is not necessary to know all from the starting, but it is necessary to know in which dot you have to draw the next line because without the small steps, the bigger picture is never achieved
It is of utmost importance to enjoy your journey because for starters you will become more motivated, excited towards your work, have a more positive mindset, and be happier. If you stop focusing on the end result and try to focus more on the present, your mind will open up and you will be able to your goal more clearly. By not constraining yourself to your goal, you will be able to be more creative with new approaches to your goal and solve problems more quickly and effectively.
All this positivity will also help encourage you to bounce back from all your past failures and remain motivated towards your goal.
Working hard for the goal is important but it is also important to give your body some time to rest, eat healthy, exercise and enjoy each and every moment that you live in the present and this helps to make better progress each day. By not focusing on the end- goal, you will have a much easier time taking smart decisions and finding plan a of action for your goals.
"We are so caught up in our destination that we forget to appreciate our journey, especially the goodness of the people we met on the way. Appreciation is a wonderful feeling, don't overlook it."
